Renee Rodrigues-D’Souza, MD, FAAP
Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza is double-boarded in Pediatrics and Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics. She was an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine for over 10 years and worked at The Meyer Center for Developmental Pediatrics and Autism at Texas Children’s Hospital during her tenure. Prior to that, Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza worked at The Child Study Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She provided medical consultation for students at the Jane Justin School and adjoining Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program.
Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza completed her Fellowship in Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where she stayed on for two more years as faculty before moving to Fort Worth. During that time, Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza participated in multidisciplinary patient assessments, multispecialty clinics, and served as the Director of TrYAD—Transition Clinic for Young Adults with Disabilities. Throughout her academic career, Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza has played an active role in educating pediatric residents and Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics fellows, including developing curricula.
Previous to her fellowship, Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza completed her pediatric residency and internship training at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine (2002–2005). She earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 2002 and is an alumna of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas (Magna Cum Laude, 1998).
Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza has been an active member of the Society for Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) and has hosted workshops for their annual meetings. Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and was the Co-Chair of the Committee for Children with Disabilities of the Texas chapter of the AAP (Texas Pediatric Society) for 6 years. This has allowed her to advocate at a state level for children with disabilities.
Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza has been recognized by the KNOW Autism Foundation with its Frontline Hero Award (April 2021). She has also been featured on Town Square with Ernie Manouse. Dr. Rodrigues-D’Souza was also featured on The Jessica Hatch Show (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcUCrbSviYs) during her tenure as Medical Director for a Houston-based ABA clinic. She has also hosted lectures at the local, state, and national levels for specialty and sub-specialty medical groups as well as community organizations.
